Ok, I won’t really do that, but I got some awesome words below for, “Joe”, my very own little cowardly cyber bully.  Last thing you want to do is piss off a Jersey Girl with a college education and an above-average grasp of the English langage.

I’ve been very fortunate with this blog in that most comments have been very positive.  I guess most readers are of the mind that if you have nothing nice to say, don’t say anything at all.  Well, about a month or so ago I blogged about how American Apparel’s ad’s were banned in the UK for being sexually provocative.  No one commented…until today.

“Joe” commented that:

you may think you’re not a prude, but you’re a prude. that “under 16″ model was 23. if you see sexy kids where there aren’t even any kids, then you’re right; there is a problem. but it’s not with the ads, it’s with your sick latent-pedo brain.

I’d like to point out that “Joe” is a coward and used a sneakemail email address, which, after a quick Google search, discovered that sneakemail is a site for disposable email addresses.  How lovely, that someone who wants to call me, moi(!), a “sick latent-pedo” doesn’t have the balls to use his real name or internet persona.

See, “Joe”, I am willing to put myself “out there” and have adopted a not-so-stealth internet name in order to discuss my views about things.   If course, I take precautions to keep certain details about my “real life” out of the public domain, but seriously, anyone with half a brain (and all my friends, family, classmates and FB friends know who I am), can find out about me.  If I didn’t want people to judge me for my views, I wouldn’t blog or be on any social media at all.

So readers, I responded in kind to “Joe” with the following:

Dear Joe,

I considered not approving your comment as it is very cowardly of you to use a “Sneakemail” disposable email address in order to describe my brain as “sick latent-pedo”. But, I’ve decided that people should see what sort of ridiculous and cowardly comments can come out of people’s mouths, so I decided to approve your silly little rant in order to also respond to it.

I am hardly close to such things you call me in your comment. Clearly, you have not read this blog at all or you would know pretty quickly that I am a fair-minded, happy person who doesn’t not take herself seriously and loves her friends and family. However, something tells me that either YOU are the sick one for defending American Apparel’s usage of juvenile-looking models in sexually provocative-borderline kiddie porn AND/OR you work for American Apparel in some way and are defending them for that reason. It does’t matter how old the actual model is, the fact that she was clearly chosen because she looks child-like is enough for me – and the ASA, among others – to come to the rational conclusion that American Apparel is going far beyond what is necessary and artistic to sell its goods.

I don’t have to defend my lack of prudeness to you, but I can tell you that I am faaaar from prude. Nor am I some “sick latent-pedo” and you should be ashamed of yourself for throwing around such an accusation at someone without knowing them.

The internet is a great thing, but a coward like you clearly just uses it as a cover for spewing unfounded and hateful words at people. You have not affected me in any way, except piss me off. Seriously, “Joe”, get a life that involves helping others instead of defending companies that depict young girls in sexually inappropriate poses in order to sell leggings.
